Allison Chou Harrington is a fictional character in the Honorverse, a series of military science fiction novels written by David Weber.
She is the mother of the title character in the Honor Harrington series. Allison, a skilled geneticist, was born on Beowulf, a planet renowned in the Star Kingdom for its permissive society. She is given to double entendres and morbid humor, and seems to delight in annoying people who are conservative about anything.[1]
Her direct ancestors include members of the top medical "dynasties" of Beowulf, who, among other things, were instrumental in the development of the Prolong anti-aging process.
After Honor's supposed 'death' in Echoes of Honor, Protector Benjamin of Grayson realizes that Honor has no heir to take her place as Steadholder. After a long period of questioning the morality of doing it partly for political expediency, she and Alfred have children again. When Honor returns home, she finds that she is now an older sister to twins: James and Faith Harrington.[2]
